It's not bad advice... if taken with a measure of salt.
I do think we all WANT to be manipulated - but in good ways. People who believe in us. People who encourage. People who rub our feet or backs at the end of the long day....
So long as the motive is good... we want it.
And some of the same skills are used in both... I'd think. |

 | 955810 | Oct 30, 2007 5:09am | Not a problem and I am not trying to detract from your point. Only hoping to say that the intentions and motives of the person employing the skills/techniques are rather important. (A point the article makes).
I have seen, used, and had used on me some of the techniques that are listed as suspicious - but to good ends. It really depends on the person.
But I'm a reckless paranoid. I trust no one and everyone... (ok, I trust a few people quite a lot, but I got there by being "reckless" - not something I recommend for everyone.)
